GlobalFoundries has pledged $1 million toward construction of a ball field located on the town-owned 34 acre woods in the Campus. An additional $3 million will be trusted to provide for ongoing gifts to the community in the form of various civic, education and cultural projects and causes.

About Malta, NY
The town was created in 1802 from part of the Town of Stillwater. More territory was gained from the Town of Saratoga in 1805.
In 1969, the community of Round Lake became an incorporated village within the town of Malta because of its higher population density.
There are many construction projects and roadway improvements taking place in Malta to accomdate the AMD (Advanced Micro Devices or GLOBALFOUNDRIES as it is now called) Luther Forest Technology Campus which plans to open in 2012.
Communities and Points-of-Interest in Malta, NY
- Browns Beach -- A location at the south end of Saratoga Lake by the east town line.
- Country Knolls -- A hamlet at the south town line.
- David R Meager Communit Center -- A Malta community center offering senior and other cultural programs such as exercise and game rooms, theater and historic lectures.
- East Line -- A hamlet at the west town line.
- Frances Corners -- A hamlet east of Malta Ridge on Route 63.

- Riley Cove -- A hamlet on the shore of Saratoga Lake south of Manning Cove. Nicknamed 'China Town'. Many of the lakefront homes in Riley Cove are available as vacation rentals and are very popular duing the the summer months because of it's quiet setting on Saratoga Lake and proximity to Saratoga Race Course. As Malta continues to grow, Riley Cove is becoming a desireable choice for year-round residences as well.
- Round Lake -- The Village of Round Lake is on the west side of Round Lake, the Village that bears its name. The lake in the west part of the village was originally called "Tanendahowa" by the early natives of the area. The lake is linked to a smaller lake, "Little Round Lake". Round Lake can be found east off the Adirondack Northway (Route 87) at exit 11.
- Round Lake Airport (W57) -- A small grass runway airport east of Round Lake.
- Saratoga Lake Association -- The primary association that exists to promote and enhance the health, safety, ecology, recreation and environmental quality of the Saratoga Lake area through education, and environmental action.
- Shenantaha -- This 61-acre park contains a soccer, volleyball, basketball tennis, playgrounds and pavilions for picnics and parties. Luther Forest and other Malta residents enjoy the foot trails along the County Zim Smith Trail lead to a beautiful stream and a quiet wooded setting.
