Peckham Materials Corp, a manufacturer asphalt and crushed stone, operates a large quarry at the Southern end of the Town and Lincoln Logs Ltd., a manufacturer of log, timber, and cedar homes, operates a large mill in the hamlet of Chestertown are the major employers in the area. There are many beautiful vacation homes in Chestertown popular among skiers. Chestertown is an excellent location for those looking to enjoy Gore Mountain skiing.
